2009 Cy Young Award Winner

John Crain-Vandelay

Little known fact...John Crain in April of 2009 went to the try outs for the Camden Riversharks.  He had made a deal with his daughter; that if she was brave he would go to the tryouts.  Well fate has it, that John,  age 36, pitches and was able to show them an 88 MPH fastball, knuckle and a curve.  The scouts brought out the radar guns and John made it all the way to the last round of the 55 pitchers that came out.  His family was able to see him on the field pitching and nearly making it.  Glad that he did not only for the reason we would not have had such a great Cy Young pitcher for our league.  Congrats John maybe next year?
