* Since your chiller is tower water cooled and located indoors, your need for freeze protection is unnecessary (for ambient reasons only). Although all chilled water systems, (closed loop or evaporative), need chemical treatment of some type. If you presently use a chemical treatment company, please have the closed loop water system checked periodically. If you do not use a chemical treatment company, please let us know and we can direct you to a reputable company in your geographic area.
* Because your chilled water temperatures are always above 50F, freeze protection, due to the temperatures you want your water, is probably not needed. Although all chilled water systems, (closed loop or evaporative), need chemical treatment of some type. If you presently use a chemical treatment company, please have the closed loop water system checked periodically. If you do not use a chemical treatment company, please let us know and we can direct you to a reputable company in your geographic area.
* Since your product does not come in direct contact with your chilled water and not used in pharmaceutical or food production, you can use any type of industrial antifreeze. Although the EPA in your geographic area may "suggest" some type of propylene glycol. If that is the case, we recommend the Dowfrost-HD since it is a propylene glycol and had inhibitors to keep the plumbing lines and water in good condition.
* Since your chilled water loop has minimal losses, the need for a pre-mix solution is not as important. I would recommend that you have a pre-mixed drum of antifreeze and water (5 gallon cans or the like), available for that 3rd shift worker that might just refill your chiller system with water if a break in the line occurs. I also recommend if filters on the chilled water loop are checked, to have a 5 gallon bucket located at the filter area. This will reduce spills and keep the antifreeze in your system, not down the drain.
